What Dysport Actually Does
Dysport is a purified neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes the muscles pulling skin into expression lines. It works on the same lines as Botox: forehead creases, the 11s between your brows, crow's feet; but the formula diffuses slightly more, which some injectors prefer for broader areas like the forehead, and it tends to show softening a few days sooner.
Done well, no one knows you got it. Done poorly, everyone does. The whole game is technique — which units, which muscles, how deep, how many. That's what you're paying an injector for.

Dysport is priced per unit. Most clients use more units than they would with Botox to achieve a comparable result, since the unit dosing isn't 1:1 between the two. Your injector quotes the total at consultation, before anything is touched.

Safety, Side Effects & Aftercare
Dysport has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2009. Side effects are typically mild and temporary, but it's worth knowing what to expect and who shouldn't get it.
Temporary redness, slight swelling, or small bruises at injection sites — all resolve within a few hours to a few days. Mild headache is occasionally reported on the first day.
In rare cases, the toxin can migrate slightly, causing temporary drooping of a nearby muscle (such as an eyelid or brow). This is uncommon with experienced injectors and resolves fully on its own within weeks.
Dysport is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone with a known allergy to botulinum toxin or cow's milk protein. Certain neuromuscular conditions may also be a contraindication — your injector will review your history.
Avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, rubbing the treated area, or wearing tight headgear for at least 4 hours. Skip alcohol and blood thinners for 24 hours if possible. Results take a few days to 2 weeks to fully settle.
