What Botox Actually Does
Botox is a neuromodulator — a purified form of botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes the muscles pulling skin into expression lines. Forehead creases. The 11s between your brows. Crow's feet at the corners of your eyes. The muscle softens, the line fades, your face still moves.

Botox is priced per unit. Most clients use between 20 and 60 units depending on the areas treated — forehead and 11s typically run smaller; full upper face plus crow's feet runs higher. Your injector quotes the total at consultation, before anything is touched.
Most clients describe it as a light pinch — brief and totally manageable. We use the finest gauge needles and work quickly. If you're sensitive, let us know and we can use a topical numbing cream beforehand.
None. You can go right back to work or your day. We ask that you avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, or rubbing the treated area for about 4 hours post-treatment — that's it.

Safety, Side Effects & Aftercare
Botox has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002. Side effects are typically mild & temporary, but it’s worth knowing what to expect and who shouldn’t get it.
Temporary redness, slight swelling, or small bruises at injection sites — all resolve within a few hours to a few days. Mild headache is occasionally reported on the first day.
In rare cases, the toxin can migrate slightly, causing temporary drooping of a nearby muscle (such as an eyelid). This is uncommon with experienced injectors and resolves fully on its own within weeks.
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone with a known allergy to botulinum toxin. Certain neuromuscular conditions may also be a contraindication — your injector will review your history.
Avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, rubbing the treated area, or wearing tight headgear for at least 4 hours. Skip alcohol and blood thinners for 24 hours if possible. Results take 3–14 days to fully settle.
