Five Laser Hair Removal Safety Tips This Summer

[sharify]

If you’ve ever had laser hair removal treatment before, then you know that spending time in the sun for too long before and after your session is a big no-no! It’s a common misconception that laser hair removal is not safe during summer for a lot of various reasons.

Thankfully, there are solutions, so you really have nothing to worry about! There are many simple precautions that you can follow to ensure a safe and worry-free produce this summer!

Shave before your appointment.

Laser hair removal will be a lot quicker and more efficient if you shave before you go to your appointment. This is the best way to make the most out of your session!

Avoid direct sun exposure right after the procedure.

You should avoid spending time in the sun right after your session! It’s a must for your safety, because the skin is going to be very sensitive after the procedure. If possible, stay in a cool place and avoid extensive heat and exposure to direct sunlight.

Avoid products with harsh chemicals.

Products such as shampoos, soaps or lotions with harsh chemicals might cause skin irritation and other complications. After having gone through the procedure, the skin will be sensitive. Therefore, it might be more susceptible to the harsh effects of chemicals.

Don’t sweat excessively! (if possible)

If you recently underwent laser hair removal, you should avoid strenuous activities. This means avoiding extensive workouts and training, this includes giving up on your spa or sauna sessions! After a laser hair removal session, your hair follicles will be extremely sensitive. Don’t worry, it’s only for a day or two.

Avoid this procedure if you tanned recently.

If you recently used a tanning booth or even a tanning spray, we highly recommend avoiding laser hair removal shortly after your tanning session! A laser hair removal session immediately after tanning can cause an adverse reaction on skin. If possible, wait two weeks before undergoing laser hair removal.
